台南的國華街一直是一條很長的美食街,從三段開始到二段都有各種不同風味的小吃
從早餐吃到晚餐都有,這家有著可愛今川燒的攤位叫街八柴町。今川焼き
總店位在台南市神農街,我品嘗的是國華街分店
買兩個口味當作下午茶止飢


巧克力口味跟卡士達口味的今川燒,在台灣統稱紅豆餅
不過,這邊的製作材料是日本的,所以口味上比較多樣化且味道細緻
上頭還有可愛的狗狗掌印


卡士達甜而不膩,味道棒極了!!
餅皮外酥內微甜,奶香跟蛋香都很優質
下午茶來一個剛剛好。

@TsekoV I think you can stop tagging me in chinese posts, I am not comfortable with writing in Chinese.

I don’t think I’ve tried it before although I’ve seen something similar in Malaysia! Personally, I would go for the custard version :yum: I love the photos too because I can make out the textures and make some guesses as to the eating experience!!:yum:

Sorry for tagging you @JulienH , I just thought you might like those desserts and have tried them before.

I hope you can find them where you live @AdrianLunsong . I have tried similar ones before and I still remember the taste of it. Basically I wouldn’t mind tasting all of the flavors. : )

@Anonymous_c88661a70675eaa8f8b8d101bc037580 @ thanks for sharing. It’s the first time I see a sweet made with red beans and I’m surprised it’s so fluffy. It looks like a donut. Is it baked or roasted on a special plate?

@BeatrizAguilar you can watch a video of it here. It’s kinda like a thick pancake sandwich of sorts with different types of fillings. I don’t know if I’m explaining the texture properly but it’s fluffy.

I was also surprised the first time I saw that sweets can be made with red beans, but it turned out that in Asian culture it is actually quite common thing @BeatrizAguilar . I think that @YasumiKikuchi can verify that. :slight_smile:

Thanks for sharing that video @AdrianLunsong , it made me feel even hungrier. I admire those kind of delicacies. Should you happen to find some in your city, would be great if you shared here.

As @AdrianLunsong say, this sweet is very famous in Japan, technology has been imported into Taiwan and represented both countries😋

In Japan it is differently called “big gold coin burning(Oban yaki)” In Taiwan it is called “wheel burning(Chelun bing)”

What’s Imagawayaki (or Obanyaki)?

Imagawayaki (今川焼き) is like a stuffed pancake. The batter is poured into a special cast-iron round grilled pan and grilled until crispy on the outside, and filled with sweet red bean paste.You might know this dessert by Obanyaki (大判焼き). Depending on the region of Japan, these treats go by different names. The name Imagawayaki is used in Kanto region (Tokyo area) while Obanyakiis used in the Kansai region (Osaka and Kyoto area).

在台灣都叫車輪餅居多,但兩者製作方式有些許的差異
日本的今川燒餅皮的材料上有多下些工夫,這家店就是用日本的食材
才會用今川燒這個名字。

我覺得日本的口味應該會比較細緻
台灣有些的口感會比較一般,添加的食材也會造成差異
