Top Google Maps Local Guides in each Country (September, 2026)

Thanks for posting up the BIG boards, @AdamGT! I cannot believe @ALG87 has overtaken @ModNomad & @SamanthaSheehy in Edits. I’m blown away at the amount of work these 3 have done. WOW.

@WilfriedB @Annaelisa @PrasadVR what attracts me to photos like this is that here in Australia, which by the way is the only country in the world that is considered both a continent and a country, we just don’t have places like this. In fact, just checking Wikipedia, other than Wiebbe Hays Stone Fort first built in 1629, the oldest building in Australia is Elizabeth Farm, built in 1793 and as you can see from the photo below, it looks nothing like a castle!

Awesome leaderboards as always @AdamGT

noticed on LB.805 and LB. 811 There is no country mentioned between Saudi Arabia and Serbia and the message says “Select a Country”

Thanks for sharing this, @AdamGT! Elizabeth Farm still looks beautiful, even if it doesn’t resemble a castle.

I have never been to Australia, but having lived in the Midwest of the United States for four years, I can imagine what you mean @AdamGT.

In Europe, it is not only the famous tourist attractions, but not the well known places, you might find everywhere, such as the small town of Braunfels, we saw last week:

@AdamGT Always as usual huge appreciation of the time spent on the leaderboard  and I’m pleased I see I have my name down in one of the other contributions .I must be doing something right

Yes you wouldn’t have thought it possible @JustJake but there you have it. @ModNomad was overtaken around June but not taking anything away from @ModNomad and of course @SamanthaSheehy, they have all done an amazing number of edits.

We had this problem some year or so ago @TerryPG and the problem is that I cannot definitively determine the respective country of these Local Guides so just lumped them in the one place. Doing it this way, the hope is that they will either advise or someone will know of them.

You are obviously doing something right @DshottDennis so just keep doing it

Zumindest ist es ein sehr schönes Farmgebäude. @AdamGT

@WilfriedB I once hiked across mid-southern France and had the pleasure of not only only seeing old castles, monasteries and churches etc but had the absolute pleasure of staying in them. For example, the Saint Faith Abbey Church of Conques is one I stayed at, in the medieval village of Conques.

@Annaelisa @tony_b and any other mobile users out there, have you checked the country leaderboards on your mobile device(s)?

Natürlich, @AdamGT, bei mir ist alles bestens.

Yes @AdamGT. The regular view is horrible, but the Hub version is perfect. Quite a contrast. Here are two screenshots of my “Country Points & Views Summary” Leaderboard numbers.

Regular version

Hub version

But there’s still a bit of mystery remaining. The Star Views, and Countries Contributions tables are perfect in the regular view, so why not the Country Points & Views Summary table?

Glad for the alternative view where needed, but it would be nice if we could fix the problem and keep everything in one place.

Yes I agree @tony_b and as you say, quite a contrast. On Connect we have limited UI control on the HUB we have full control.

I have no idea Anthony!

For this to happen we would need greater capability with regards to formatting posts on Connect. Just looking at your screenshots, it’s like chalk and cheese

ps: It’s interesting how your average views per video is in the same ball park as the average views per photo by @iiBeMayaii

Thanks for highlighting this @AdamGT. You just triggered the statistician in me. Note that the situation was quite different back in January. I’ve been thinking for a while that @iiBeMayaii is not active. Difficult to check, as their Connect profile does not contain the link to their Google Maps profile.

The views on their few or one photo will continue to occur, but on a reducing scale as newer photos get published to the same place(s). Meanwhile, I’m slowly adding new videos, and my newer videos are getting a lot more views than my older ones, hence the likelihood of an increasing average. Please see my chart below, showing the trend from January to September.

Hehehe a nice average views comparison @tony_b. This leads me to another question although I can guess what the answer will be: are any of your videos taken of the same POI of @iiBeMayaii photos?

Well done @doni_hariadi. You are doing well with video.
