It’s great to see you enjoying the Country Leaderboards. They are complicated to produce but as well as rankings, and showing opportunities (vacant slots), they contain a lot of useful information.
I know dear @AdamGT sir, that’s why i always appreciate your efforts.& i always Try to my best.

Hello @02Ercan. What country are you in? This section of the Leaderboards relates directly to your performance among your own countrymen. So if you are in a country with many active Local Guides, it is possible that someone else in your country performs marginally above you, and that would preclude you from being on these lists. But there are other lists within the Leaderboard system where I’m sure you could shine. Are you consistently uploading your statistics every month? That will make all the difference in being recognized.
Hello @tony_b. I was in Turkey until last year but after that I am in USA - NJ. If you mean top100localguides.com site by upload, I did it for the first time this month and I will do it from now on. I don’t know if I will be on the list anymore.
There are many different variations in the Leaderboard series. You may find it difficult competing with other USA LGs on the Country Leaderboards, but there are still other areas where you can shine.
By the way, are you registered on Google as Turkey or USA? Are you contributing on Maps as a Turkey Local Guide, or as an American Local Guide?
When I travel overseas, I still post as my original registration, but I know my photos may get lost in a sea of competition if they are taken in a much bigger more populated country.
Any thoughts on how this works @AdamGT @TerryPG @PrasadVR @TravellerG @Kumaarsantosh @JustJake ?
Hi @tony_b,
You have already clarified it well to @02Ercan. I am just re emphasizing some facts:
- Country specific performance has a major role to play for the Country Leaderbaord " Top Google Maps Local Guides in each Country". You have explained it well here:
-
For other Leaderboards, individual’s contribution’s performance plays a role both in overall Top 100 LB as well as in Local Guides Level wise Top 100 LB. So, irrespective of which country you belong your data is compared in the subset of specific Leaderboard. E.g. In Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Photos, the second Leaderboard is “Top 100 Media Views
(March 2025)” - here you can see the list of top 100 Local Guides with their Media Views count. And, this order is determined by the media views count and not by the country or the level of an individual Local Guide. -
I fully agree with @tony_b on this
I agree. We have several LGs who are dual citizens and spend time and contribute to two or more countries. Their country badge sticks to their “home,” though. So, if the US is only a part-time or temporary base, your contributions will still stick to Turkey.
Also, as Tony mentioned, @02Ercan, there are a lot of Leaderboards besides this one. Just keep your date up to date and you’re going to show up on a few of them.
Actually I registered in Turkey and I have experience about 8 years as a LG there. So originally my account created in Turkey and I can continue with same country. I think it will be better.
Thank you, understood. So I guess it is difficult in USA
Other thing, I realized LG connect very late. I remember I got an email about meeting LG before pandemic and then, I couldn’t see any email or events face to face meeting. It should be funny and good.
