Introduction
The Points, Photo Views and Video Views leaderboards regularly posted on Connect, each look at specific but different media aspects of our Maps contributions. Based on various metrics, including the number of points and the number of views, the participants on these leaderboards are listed without giving any consideration to their respective country location.
However, it goes without saying that Local Guides in smaller countries or ones where there are significantly less guiding opportunities, such as Barbados, Cameroon and Rwanda, would have less chance of gaining enough points or photo views than those in larger countries such as the United States, Canada or UK and therefore, these Local Guides have less chance of getting onto leaderboards based strictly on points or photo views!
Local Heroes > Local Stories
The leaderboards in this post, are different because they specifically take into account the country location of the participating Local Guides and in this way, they give Local Guides from even the smallest countries recognition and an opportunity to be featured as local heroes in their country, and you will see many are.
There are many great local stories on the Country leaderboards and this month they come from 103 different countries! If you’re a Local Hero and you’re not listed on the leaderboards or your country isn’t listed, then you and your country should be and you can make this happen. Simply hit this link or add a comment below and someone will jump in to help you.

Beautiful white, soft sand.

A perfect location to vacation.

Even from this brief reading, it’s clear that Clearwater, FL, is a popular tourist destination. With its warm, tropical climate with abundant sunshine throughout the year, Clearwater is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the United States, especially Clearwater Beach which has consistently been ranked among the top beaches in the country. Clearwater is clearly a great destination for beachgoers, especially during the colder months in other parts of the country.
Beyond the beach, Clearwater offers a wide range of dining options, from casual beachside cafes to upscale seafood restaurants. The vibrant nightlife includes beachfront bars, live music venues, and sunset cruises, making it a popular spot for both relaxation and entertainment. Clearwater also has a vibrant arts and culture scene, including the Capitol Theatre, which hosts concerts and performances. The city’s parks and nature reserves, like Sand Key Park and Moccasin Lake Nature Park, offer hiking, bird-watching, and other outdoor activities.
Clearwater is easily accessible, located just a short drive from Tampa International Airport. Its central location also makes it a convenient base for exploring other nearby attractions, like Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the Salvador DalĂ Museum in St. Petersburg, and the theme parks of Orlando.
