This is the smallest monthly movement my red star has had in the last few months. Seems to be going a deeper hue, like scarlet or crimson now.

@AdamGT It looks like I’m tied with @FlavioDA at 1395 views per day. Guess there was no more room at the bottom of the chart.

You’re not alone on this one @tony_b . In fact I recently described my star photo by saying “Well it seems from using the star tracking feature of the T100 System, even my new star is turning into a red star” 
Regarding being at the bottom, do remember as newbies jump in (e.g. @jackson and @GA_1 ), and as others improve on their average views per day metric, it’s much easier to fall off the bottom but again for reasons I’ve mentioned before (see here) this doesn’t mean that one should stop updating their data! Also, we must not forget the relativity issue and this is why I personally think that when it comes to star photos, the Top Average Star Views/Day by Country leaderboard gives a better perspective on what the true picture is…that level playing field

What I was commenting on was the 10 names “knocking on the door” and the 10th one has 1395 views per day. I also have 1395 but there’s no #11, so I just wondered how you determined which one of us to list as #10.
No need to change anything. I was just curious.

Oh I see!!! Now I understand @tony_b . Well of course this can happen not only at #111 but on any of the leaderboards at #100 and I have to tell you, when compiling the leaderboards, I don’t actually see names I just see numbers such as Userids and the first one on the list gets in but now that you’ve raised this, and thank you for that, to be fair, I need to come up with some better way of handling it. I will have to give this some thought so it’s another item on my to-do list lol.

As you will appreciate, the leaderboards are complex and take considerable time and effort to prepare and post however I try to post them during the first week of the month but the actual date can vary depending on my work and personal commitments. This month, the star photo leaderboards including disclaimers were posted around 2:30pm on May 7, 2023 (AEST) and the featured star photos a day or so ago.
As you will have read in points #4 and #6 in the Reading the Star Photos leaderboards (May 2023) notes, of the hundreds of Local Guides star photos, those that best meet the formatting requirements as specified in the Local Guides, 2023 Star Photos post have their Maps Category shown on a colored background and the featured star photos shown just before the respective Local Guide level leaderboards are a selection from these. So well done on having your star photo featured.

I get a lot of pleasure seeing so many hundreds of Local Guides like you enjoying the fun and friendly competitive side of the leaderboards but even more so by seeing them use the powerful extensions of the T100 System behind the leaderboards, to help them better manage, monitor and improve both the health, and the quality of their contributions and the outcomes achieved in terms of points, views and impact on their community.

It has been fun and interesting and I’m looking forward to writing about what I’ve been working on since joining the group. I hate to ask you this, but I’ve been through the guidelines about increasing your VIP level on the leaderboard system several times and I seem to be missing something. I understand about the reset each month. I keep thinking that I’m being active enough to get to a higher VIP level, but maybe I’m not indicating that activity correctly. When I try to access the vip lounge I get a message that’s by invitation only.

Hello @Rednewt74 , one of the things that get rewarded with VIP Levels is your interactions with the published Leaderboards. It would be a good idea to ensure you read all the Leaderboards each month and click the little blue heart (kudos button) on each one you read. I know you’ve been clicking some of my posts, and that also counts, but don’t skip the Leaderboards in each category.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been going back to them and giving a like, but I’ve been concerned if I go through too many at once it might look like spam. Yesterday I saw I had gone up to level 3, but today it’s showing level 1 again. I’m sure it will work out eventually.

Yes you’re correct @Rednewt74 . The literature by @AdamGT says “… no Likes flooding please! Do not just race through as in the example shown below, madly clicking like the badge hunters do on Connect”.
So yes, read and like, but if you’ve already read all and now going back to give likes/kudos, pause a bit between each. Also, take a look at the Category heading - VIP Lounge, and click the dropdown menu. See my screenshot below and let me know if you have that. You should be able to use VIP Check to see your current status and view a clickable list of recommendations for actions to take you up higher.

When I was at level 3, the helper suggestions list was blank. Today at level 1 it suggests that I look at the countries leader boards. I will continue looking and liking and I’m sure it will straighten out. I’m not ready to bother AdamGT about it.

I’m sorry that I’m only just replying to you @Rednewt74 however I’m pleased that in my absence @tony_b has kindly jumped in to assist you which is great and it is as he has described, it’s all about interaction with the leaderboards.
There are basically two types of users of, let’s for brevity’s sake call it the T100 System (the “System”). Firstly there are those that are only interested in rankings of Local Guides and just want to see their names and achievements on the different leaderboards. They register, get on the leaderboards, from time to time they might update their data, but they never if at all return to Connect; zilch engagement! That’s fine but they miss out BIG time on the real benefits of the different extensions provided on the System to help them better manage, monitor and improve on their contributions and the outcomes that they achieve. The differentiation of these two groups is determined by engagement here on Connect by way of reading and checking the posted leaderboards for accuracy, writing relevant posts/comments, hosting relevant meet ups, assisting others etc. etc. I’m pleased to see that you want to be in the second group. In fact, you already are so just keep doing what you’re doing and use the tools on the System to help and guide you. It’s as automated as I can make it but its not perfect which brings me to your last problem!
Not long ago there was a problem with the System’s user level, where one day you were at say Level 6 and the very next day at Level 1. I thought that this problem was fixed but it seems that you are encountering it but as you have mentioned, it will work out eventually so just hang in there and follow the advice of @tony_b given here.

Thank you for checking in. While it has been a little bit frustrating, I was sure your system would work and didn’t want to ask you to look into it; but thanks again for doing so. I think one issue has been that I keep not noticing that the different leaderboards are on different posts and therefore have been missing opportunities to like what I was just reading.
