To my mind, this is what the photography board is really all about @nigelfreeney … sharing great photos that have great stories behind them and to be honest, reading the leaderboards, no matter how interesting I try to make them, with your kind of photo story gives them that needed punch. No different to the brilliant photo of Parque Nacional Cañon del Sumidero by @LightRich that I added to the January Photo Views leaderboard post. Now you adding the processing steps you took to achieve the final result is just magical. Thank you for sharing.
Hi @AdamGT ,
Wow… thanks for your kind comments.
On reflection, there are undoubtedly lots of LGs with stories equally or more interesting than mine. The problem is that the star photos are often the dullest images that have no real logic, or special effort involved in their creation.
So another thought springs to mind - because you have nothing better to do . Why not invite the participants in the Top 100 Local Guides to put forward their favourite images that have an interesting story behind them. Oh, perhaps this could be the competition that I was trying to come up with .
There could be a small judging panel of maybe 5-10 LGs. Run it for 2-3 months. Could a badge be issued for participation as judges and participants?
@nigelfreeney I am clarifying that, when I say I like the original better than the edited photo, the choice is based on my preference rather than a reflection of your editing skill level. it’s not a critique of your editing skills. The two photos look very different after editing. I appreciate your editing skills. I prefer the first photo because it looks pristine and nostalgic. I found your visit story interesting, managing French and fixing a snapped chain. I admire your self-improvement efforts and training in martial arts.
