Thanks. I’m sure he will.

Wow i actually made this list at spot 72. Lol. I only started doing videos recently since they seem to attract more views and also quicker to show non zero views, imo.

Do most of you take landscape or portrait-mode videos? Just curious. Also i try to keep my videos to 10 seconds. Do others have an opinion on length?

I don’t think the length especially matters. I saw one guide with thousands of one second videos. Seems like a waste to me. Google’s request is that the videos be shot in vertical orientation. Occasionally I still will shoot photos in landscape mode and stitch them together as a video. I would guess most of my videos are between 10 and 20 seconds. I am definitely a believer in editing videos.

I couldn’t agree with you more @NandKK, and when you consider that every view has helped someone make a decision about a place to visit or a meal to have, its’s particularly rewarding. Keep guiding, keep contributing and keep achieving.

Thanks for being more specific @Rednewt74, it saves me time when the queries are specific. Even just mentioning the Leaderboard’s unique number would help. Anyway, it seems that you weren’t the only one missing. I’ve now corrected and updated the 10 Million Video Views Club board. Well done Al, with 16m+ video views, your membership of this exclusive club is assured.

I usually do my videos with the phone held vertically (portrait). I continue to accede to the request by @AdamGT for photos to be horizontal (landscape).

The length of my videos is approximately 10 seconds or less. Occasionally I may have a long one, and I edit off the beginning or the end, just to shorten it a bit.

Thanks. Both you and Red for clarifying. I still have not been able to figure out how to edit my video. I am never able to clip the length. But dont worry on explaining that part. I will figure it out. I just started videos on maps, so i need to learn to edit them just like cropping a photo. Lol.

Okay. I’ll hold on the explanation while you try to teach yourself. Just one clue, I dont use any tools other than what can be found when opening a photo or video from the gallery on my phone. Let us know how it goes.

@Annaelisa I also missed it on my first reading but found it eventually and discovered others were also missing. I have since corrected the problem see my reply to @Rednewt74 here.

Congratulations on making it onto the Video boards after only recently starting to shoot videos @StevenBerlin. Given the obvious current focus on video, it’s certainly strategic of Google to give video contributions some prominence. I too have noticed that they attract more views and are also quicker to show non zero views.

These are good questions Steven and in fact are the subject of the new Pro Insights feature on the Leaderboard System that are now being alpha tested. In the meantime, your question about orientation prompted me to write Landscape or Portrait #2?.

@AdamGT

Fantastic. I am doing a photo shoot tomorrow of an outdoor mall. I plan to take probably 150 photos and perhaps 30 videos! Can’t wait to start taking more videos.

It’s great that you are doing videos. There is some basic editing for videos in Google photos. I use Capcut which is free, easy, has lots of features, and is much more powerful.
