Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Points (May, 2025)

Good for you @Annaelisa. My Star Photo hasn’t shown an increase for 14 months. My Star Video went down to very small increases and now I have a new star - my #3 video got so many views it went higher than #1 and #2.

I do a mix of different contributions, but because my photos are so few, my points generally come from other activities.

Thanks @TerryPG  I’ve just got back from a short break and didn’t know I had a featured photo until I saw your message!

@AdamGT well done, my friend, and thank you for all the effort, this is quite impressive! I am not still in the top leaderboard but I guess I am getting closer. I was wondering since I am a little bit new with the leaderboard. Is there any way to know my current position?

Thanks for your appreciation @marcorp. You registered in 6 May which was past the closing date for the May Leaderboards and in any case, as you can see from the Local Guide Level 10 Points leaderboard, the threshold to making an appearance on that board is currently 168,427 points. However to answer your question, while there is no straightforward way to know you current position, there is a possibility that you will make it onto one or more leaderboards in June.

@AdamGT hi again, and sorry for the trouble!. I just posted my most viewed photo in the Star Photo Album but I am having trouble to submit my photo in the Top 100 Star Photo site:

it does not allow me to submit, most likely because of something I am doing wrong.

can you give me a hand?

Try ticking the checkbox at the end of the first line on the data entry page. I do that when I have a replacement entry, but I suppose a first time entry is still a “new” photo.

@tony_b yeah, I tried it but did not work. I am pretty sure I am missing something, we´ll see. I also want to add my most viewed video

Yes it did work @marcorp as I can see it on the backend server so something strange locally. I suggest you try logging out and log back in and check the data entry screen. If you are not familiar with the context sensitive online help then I suggest you taker a minute to do so as when in doubt or something doesn’t work for you, this online help should be your first port of call. The advice given by @tony_b is correct and as stated in the online help, if you are adding a new star or have a new star that is replacing a previous star then you should check this checkbox and you will be presented with an empty form where you enter the details of this new star.

Please note that if you are simply updating the details such as the star views or screenshot date of an existing star then you should not tick this checkbox as you will end up with a blank screen and incorrectly think that your star’s details have been deleted!

Hi TerryPG I thought I’d mention that this was a photo that I took in Yokohama, I loved watching the boats come and go
