Many Local Guides share their points achievements in individual posts on Connect’s Achievements board, a board specifically set up to brag about our achievements. However, hundreds of Local Guides do this collectively on the Points Leaderboards post. Why? Because here you get much more than the opportunity to brag about your points achievements. For example:

  1. You get a much better and easier comparative analysis of your points achievements with your peers, that is, Local Guides at your own Local Guide level.
  2. You can gain a way to better monitor and chart the progress of your contributions over time.
  3. You have access to a deeper analysis of your points achievements, and
  4. You can quickly gain an as-you-go health check that can highlight issues with your contributions.

The good news is, you don’t have to be a “top gun” Level 10 Local Guide with millions of points to participate! There are leaderboards for each Local Guide level so anyone can join in and it’s simple to do! Just hit this link to register or if you need some help then add a comment in this post and someone will jump in to help you.

You will quickly learn that as well as the inherent competitive and fun element to the Leaderboards, there’s more here than meets the eye! You see, the Leaderboards are more than just about rankings of Local Guides! We hope you’ll join up soon.

How to read the Points leaderboards (March, 2024)

Briefly, this is what you need to know about the leaderboards in this post. For more details see the leaderboard documentation and the Leaderboard System’s online context-sensitive help information.

  1. The leaderboards in this post present details about the Local Guide points of hundreds of participating Local Guides from all over the world. As well as an overall leaderboard ranking the top 100 Local Guides by points, you will see leaderboards for different Local Guide levels which provide you with direct comparisons of your >points achievements >with that of your peers.
  2. Where shown, around leaderboard sequence numbers indicate that this is the first time that this Local Guide has participated on the Top 100 Local Guides leaderboards.
  3. Where shown, ( ) around leaderboard sequence numbers indicate that this Local Guide levelled up/down on this leaderboard.
  4. An asterisk (*) shown after a Connect Username indicates that that Local Guide is a Connect Moderator.
  5. Double asterisks (**) shown after a Connect Username indicates that that Local Guide is a Googler.
  6. Hovering over a Local Guide’s username will display the integration number that integrates that Local Guide’s details on the Leaderboards System and Connect; the umbilical chord if you will between the two disparate systems.
  7. Selecting a Connect Usernames will take you to that Local Guide’s Connect Profile.
  8. A superscript following a Local Guide’s username and the points value shown on a background color indicates that some of that Local Guide’s data has been set to private. The Leaderboards System uses 8 different superscripts to indicate the varying states of a Local Guide’s profile however only the following 3 superscripts will likely ever be shown on the Leaderboards and in particular, the Points Leaderboards. In all the remaining 5 cases the Local Guide has been deleted from participation:
    [1] indicates that the number of photos and photo views values are private.
    [2] indicates that the number of reviews and ratings values are private.
    [3] indicates that both the number of photos and photo views values and the number of reviews and ratings values are private.
  9. A ? or the words “Not set” in a cell indicates that the respective value hasn’t been provided by or cannot be determined for the respective Local Guide.
  10. Usernames shown as @Anonymous have either been deleted from or have left the Local Guides program.
  11. The data for the leaderboards in this post was read at 3:30 PM on April 2, 2024 (UTC).
  12. Local Guides included in the leaderboards must check their entries for any errors. If you should find any errors or omissions, please add the details in a comment on this post. Regarding omissions, please note point 9 above.

The exclusive Million Points Club (March 2024)
I’m sure you’ll agree that anyone with a MILLION points needs to be specially highlighted on these leaderboards and this is what the Million Points Club is all about. The leaderboard shown below lists the participating Local Guides with an incredible MILLION+ points on Google Maps. Hard to believe but there you are, it is possible and we all can one day get there. There’s plenty of room in this club for each and everyone of us :rofl:

Unfortunately @Kumaarsantosh , no mater how good one is at automating using spreadsheets or whatever tools one is good at, with so many Local Guides, so many numbers, so many different variables, and not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of URLs included in these boards, mistakes do happen and this is where I nee everyone to check and check and check.

We all are your eyes and ears and always ready to extend our helping hands. The least we can do is to check our own data. That itself ease out lot of rework at your end.

Exactly @JustJake . There are no shortcuts, just keep adding as “Here” says.

Regarding our dear friend @PrasadVR , unfortunately the barrier to entry on these boards keeps creeping higher and higher. For the over Top 100 Points leaderboard, it’s crept up by some 22,000 points since January so if I’m right, to cross that threshold, that’s equivalent to doing the work of at least a Level 8 Local Guide :sunglasses:

You hit the nail on the head there @Kumaarsantosh . Doing the boards the first time round is one thing but to have to go around reworking it all and do it all again is murder. Thank you for all the checking that you do and of course, thank you for your continued support and appreciation.
