Many Local Guides share their points achievements in individual posts on Connect’s Achievements board, a board specifically set up to brag about our Local Guide achievements. However, hundreds of Local Guides do this collectively on the Points Leaderboards post. Why? Because here you get much more than the opportunity to brag about your points achievements. For example:
You get a much better and easier comparative analysis of your points achievements with your peers, that is, Local Guides at your own Local Guide level.
You can gain a way to better monitor and chart the progress of your contributions over time.
You have access to a deeper analysis of your points achievements, and
You can quickly gain an as-you-go health check that can highlight issues with your contributions.
As well as the inherent competitive and fun element to the Leaderboards, there’s more here than meets the eye! You see, the Leaderboards are more than just about rankings of Local Guides! To learn more see this post.
The good news is, you don’t have to be a “top gun” Level 10 Local Guide with millions of points to participate! There are leaderboards for each Local Guide level so anyone can join in and it’s simple to do! If you want to get on the boards just leave a comment in this post and someone will jump in to help you.
If you’re new here then you may not be aware that this post forms part of a series of leaderboard posts each covering different aspects of the contributions of Local Guides. To see an index to these leaderboard posts and all posts associated with them, hit this link.

I’m sure you’ll agree that anyone with a MILLION points needs to be specially highlighted on these leaderboards and this is what the Million Points Club is all about. The leaderboard shown below lists the participating Local Guides with an incredible MILLION+ points on Google Maps. Hard to believe but there you are, it is possible and we all can one day get there. There’s plenty of room in this club for each and everyone of us
A big congratulations to everyone who gained points in the month of June and on this, look at @WebVisite creeping up closer to the entrance door of the exclusive Million Points Club. Welcome also to @Vladas731 from Klaipėda in Lithuania to the Leaderboards.
The Level 10 threshold has increased from 130,255 to 131,482 points and there are some 60 Level 10 Local Guides that are below the new threshold. This group includes both @J_Fox and @ColinIrish who jumped off the top of the Level 9 board. Members of this group of 60 currently don’t have enough points to get onto the Level 10 board but it’s not impossible to do, just like @Kumaarsantosh has shown, jumping back onto the overall Top 100 board.
Similarly, the Level 9 threshold has increased marginally from 56,603 to 56,803 with some 30 Level 9s below the new threshold 6 of whom including @Scheria were previously on the Level 8 board. Congratulations to @Rednewt74 who jumped out of this group and claimed his spot on the Top 100 Level 9s. Well done Sheria jumping from 45,787 to 51,747 points in just one month! Are you into @SholaIB 's TRAC project by any chance?
The scenario on the Level 8 points leaderboard is really no different other than there is a staggering 160+ Level 8 Local Guides in the queue waiting impatiently to get onto the Level 8 board. This includes both @BrianBow and @Dirk_Rellecke who levelled up from the Level 7 leaderboard in May.
It’s much the same on the Level 7 points leaderboard with some 40 Local Guides with too many points to be on the Level 6 Leaderboard but just not enough points to make it onto the Level 7 board.
It is clear from all this that there can be little doubt that there will be lots of snakes and ladders type movement taking place in the coming months. Watch this space hey!!!
Thanks for the snarky shout-out, @AdamGT . I was going to mention my surprise at the lack of level jumpers this month. I see no () in the charts. Maybe more people should be adding roads great contributions and updating their T100 profile.
Sorry about the delay in posting @imadgalaxy . After making a good start I started going a bit cross-eyed so I decided to have a break. This can happen sometimes with the Leaderboard posts having hundreds of Local Guide names and links to their profiles, and their Local Guide Levels and points and so on. When you read the boards you will see the attention to detail that is required and believe me sometimes that attention dissipates. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
Yes and as often happens @JustJake the level jumpers while increasing in points and climbing up to the next Local Guide Level, just don’t have enough points to make it onto the next leaderboard. This is why I made special mention of some of these in my opening comment. This month there were in fact 10 Local Guide level jumpers
Thanks for the details of what’s going on behind the scenes @AdamGT . I had no idea there were so many who’d figuratively jumped “out of the frying pan and into the fire.” How strange to find ourselves in a worse position by doing better.
Maybe you should consider a Top150 instead, but I can see that still wouldn’t fix all. No, it’s best not to change anything. We’ll continue to play the game as it is.
Thanks for the acknowledgement @AdamGT . Yes, I am apart of the TRAC team. It definitely without a doubt is what carried me to the next level. Im grateful to be in a place to learn and grow even more.
