first of all it’s funny I didn’t know about the local guides connect forum until today. I was going through the application invitation to the local guides party (USA). Anyway each day presents us an opportunity to learn here I am. Back to the topic decided to search how many government offices have been added in the northern region of Malawi found out several aren’t on the map decided to drive and add some as usual had to explain myself to the staff around those offices which took more time than usual, trying to get authorisation to take pictures. (Besides being public service offices). Each time I had to start from scratch explaining myself to the next top officer and answer several questions including what’s in it for you. Why this effort just to help others? Anyway it gave me a clear view of the IT Literacy levels gap in the country only one staff (security guard) of the 5 added places understood of what benefit or any importance was the exercise, what I love at the end of the day was each of authorities/ officers I talked to are now more knowledgeable about the developments in terms of information technology and google maps.

If you’re applying to Connect Live 2020 be sure to share a link to a new Connect post responding to this year’s application prompt. You can find everything you need to know about writing a post for Connect Live 2020 here. If you think you are missing some of the points mentioned, you can always edit the post and add them.
P.S. I will relabel your post to Local Stories, where all applications should appear.
