TongHua Night Market - the heart of Taipei

I like exploring delicious restaurants, chic cafes, and street foods on google map and reading comments. Those comments on each spot provide me a good way to decide whether to have a bite there with my friends or not. Since I’ve taken many advantages from all the helpful comments on Google map, it came to me one day that I should also contribute my real experiences on google map too, so everyone who reads my comments will benefit from that.

So, here I am! ?

Today, I would like to share my current neighborhood with the Connect, it’s TongHua Night Market at the heart of Taipei. Not only tourists come here for many small and delicious snacks, but also locals. We love the foods, people and the feels of prosperity.

TongHua Night Market is very close to Taipei 101 which is used to be the highest building in the world. Tourists come here when they finish visiting the amazing Taipei 101 and viewing the grand Taipei city at the 89th- 91st floor. You could walk here in 30 mins or take the metro in 10 mins.

Tonghua Night Market is simply a 300-meter street, but with the greatest location and the easy accessibility, it becomes a good choice to experience the Taiwanese local life.

What I love the most when visiting Tonghua Night Market is walk thoroughly the street first, and try to find out my true appetite for that day. You may get distracted easily since there are too many food stands to choose and it’s ALWAYS very crowded.

Sometimes, when you are done the first walk, you still have no ideas about what to eat. Don’t worry, it’s quite normal and common. Just see which queue is long, and you join the wait! It may be time-consuming but it worths when you get the food on hands.

For small eaters, I recommend not come here alone since you might miss out many delicious tastes. My suggestion is to come here with 3 or 4 friends and sharing food together. Then, everyone could have more bites than just one food at one visit.

In recent years, we have more foreign food stands in TongHua Night Market, you could easily find them here too. They are selling their best home-made tiramisu, local snacks, and tasty meals. I find it quite excellent when I could have the Taiwanese local food with Italian tiramisu at the same time. This experience is mixed and exotic.

“Good stuff needs to wait, so does food. Come back in 20 mins, they will be ready.” The cook told the crowd. Everyone seems so smiley when they heard that and did come back in 20 mins for the sweet taste. Food does make people HAPPY.

I hope you enjoy my journey for TongHua Night Market so far, wish you all have a “Bon Appetite!” when you visit here. I assume the only thing to worry about is one stomach is not enough for all the foods in TongHua Night Market, make sure to bring your friends to have a nice and memorable date for many bites.
