Hi there! My name is Nauman Abbasi and I’m proud to be a Google Maps Local Guide. I’m from Mississauga, Canada and I love to travel, to share my opinions and I love using Google Maps so what better way to combine all three things than to be a Local Guide? Google Maps has been an important part of my life for a long time - since it first started in 2005! - so to be able to contribute and give back in this manner is definitely up my alley.
Whether local or abroad, I visit restaurants, religious places, tourist sites, places of interest and more and if I can share an opinion on it, I use Google Maps to do so. That way, others can benefit from my feedback (or challenge me for it too!). Most importantly, the owners or managers of that place in which I’ve reviewed can benefit by taking my feedback and applying it to improve their business if applicable. It’s a form of affecting positive change! Some businesses or places of interest will use that information to make changes but even if they don’t, it’s nice to feel heard.
I love visiting restaurants and I love sharing my feedback on restaurants the most. It’s kinda like being a food critic and when I come across places where I really enjoyed the food, it makes me happy to support that business through my positive review on Google Maps. Now, others will know about that restaurant too and hopefully it’ll encourage others to visit and enjoy the food too! It’s fun to share and help those restaurants who provide great food.
My favourite restaurants to visit happen to be restaurants that offer halal food. Specifically, I love burgers, fries, poutine (the legendary Canadian delicacy consisting of french fries, gravy and cheese curds), pizza and other not-so-healthy food options. Sandwich shops are also great but I can never find enough that offer halal meat unfortunately. If someone knows a good halal restaurant offering Subway-like sandwiches and subs, let me know!
Other places that I like to visit and provide my feedback on are hotels since they take feedback pretty seriously to improve the customer-experience. THey also tend to respond back to my feedback quickly which is pretty cool since it makes you feel like you’re being heard and that your opinion matters to them. Talk about listening to your customers!
Let me know if there are any specific places that you’d like to see more reviews from on me and I’ll try my best to make my way over there… after all, I gotta give my opinion somehow!
