To have or not to have a signature - that's the question!

Many of us have a signature to show off some links, images, or facts under each discussion and each reply.

When reading an interesting discussion with many short replies, I just realized that seeing the same signatures over and over is not really helpful. It breaks up the flow with redundant information. So I decided to move my 1-line signature with a link to my linktree to my profile text instead. I think that is the polite thing to do.

What do you think?

Having a one-line signature is maybe okay, but wasting several lines to show of the same links, flags and logos over and over is like stealing time, screen space, and bandwidth from the readers. Don’t you think?

Cheers from Morten - now without a signature!

I agree, more than one or maybe two lines disturbs more than it helps. But I appreciate to see the real first name of those, who use a completely different username in Connect.

And whilst there, feel free to enable the link to your Google Maps profile! :sunglasses:

From my email training, I know that a repetitive signature on every answer in a long conversation is undesirable. Worse yet, when persons have a long signature under a short answer,

I agree with you. Most of us use mobile devices, so the shorter and simpler the signature, the easier it is to view the messages.
