Tiranga Trek- The Tricolor Love

Years back in 2012, I came to know on Google Maps about a beautiful trekking spot in Pune popularly known as Kille Sinhgad.
Then I planned to explore the beauty of Singhad with few of my friends.
The day was the 15th of August which is the Independence Day of India.
On that memorable day, we started trekking early morning with our Indian tricolor.
It was an occasion to reminisce the sacrifices of the brave martyrs and patriotic countrymen that laid the foundation of a free and independent India.
As it was our Independence day, our motto was to carry & hoist the national flag on the mountain peak.
During flag hoisting, we play the National Anthem & remember the national heroes of our country.
The most special part of this journey is after reaching the top, we get to enjoy one of the most delicious homemade Maharashtrian food- Pithla(Besan fry) & Bhakri(Indian bread) with sweet curd.
The total trek distance is around 10 km.
Now years later in 2019, we still continue to enjoy this trek on every Independence Day with a large group of friends.
Also, I started exploring a different kind of treks around Pune using Google Maps & keep updating about these places for other trek lovers.
