Tips on taking great looking picture

Hello all, i feel a bit shy when i want to take out my phone and take pictures of nice places or nice scenes when there are people around. Is there anyway, i can overcome this feeling and be able to take much more pictures? Also, are there any best approach i can use in taking pictures of places or things without having to ask for permissions?

LOL you are asking for the best way to go from being shy to pushy? thats probably quite complicated.

But a couple simple mind tricks can help you a lot.

REMEMBER you are doing the business a favorite by sharing pictures of the business online via Google, there are virtually no other way to get more instant exposure than good content on Google…

IF they wonder what you are doing… you are doing them a favor, google is the number one source of information for younger customers… new and current pictures make a business perceived as more reliable and trustworthy… tell them you are helping them.

Taking better pictures. well for starters remember to clean the lens on your phone, buy some photography magazines, all rules of photography applies to advertising photography as well.

The standard suggestion is get a shot of the building, a door shot on the way in, a over-view shot right inside the door, then proceed and grab close and very close shots of some major product groupings… or seating areas in restaurants… relax, look at the whole, say, what would I want to see… if the candies comes to mind, go grab a picture of the candy assortment.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dapsonishmeal.

A few more things to bear in mind.

Whilst the owners of the shop, cafe etc… may be open and friendly to your camera clicking - other customers may not.

I try not to get too many people in my shots anyway. In fact in a restaurant setting for example, I’d photograph food and avoid people altogether.

Perhaps you could take a friend with you if it helps you feel more comfortable. Be honest and respectful

You could also be REALLY daring and shout out to everyone in the vicinity “Hey guys…, I want a shot for Google maps, will you all pose for me! Thank you!!”

Good luck

Hey,

I use to feel shy and scared too when i started posting pictures of location and places in my area. I was able to get over that when i knew i was assisting someone not to miss their way. The other fear is harassment from people and stores and location owner, but eventually I convinced several people I’m assisting them cos I will be showing them to the world, that settle it all.

Thanks @James8Arthur that’s really going to be helpful
