I live in rural area in Indonesia.
I am new to edit road in maps.
I want to make area around me better accessed through google maps. So, i edit road around me.
The problem is not add new road, but when there is already road there (wrongly drawn).
Every time i erase road (Road does not exist), it gets rejected by google.
Is there any tips on this?
Delete wrongly drawn road.
I would not say that the road in your example doesn’t exist, but simply that the road has a wrong shape, and the correct one is probably the one that you can see here below, in solid blue
In your country there are several ways to add roads (Road mapper and the road editor) and the two ways time by time can be in conflict.
In addition in the last year the AI has improved a lot, and it is now able to identify roads under the trees, but in the past this wasn’t the case.
The road that we see there seems to be an attempt to create roads directly by the AI (we can see a lot of similar examples in Road Mapper).
Regarding the approval of the edit, can you kindly tell us how long after submission your edit was rejected and when did this happen?
This would tell us a lot about why the edit wasn’t accepted.
To simplify, I can say that Maps approves edits based on priority.
Edits in areas of high population density are analyzed first, and road additions have priority over gauge modification or removal. For this reason, when I have to remove or modify a road I only do it if I also have to insert a new connected road in the same edit.
Any edit not approved within 90 days is automatically rejected, not because it is wrong but simply because it had a low priority and there was no time to analyze it.
