Time for a local coffee

If you are planing a trip to Athens (Greece) you should definitely try the “greek coffee”. It’s totaly different from what you have alredy tasted and that difference has to do with the way it’s made. You should ask the waitress if they make the greek coffee with the traditional way or with the machine. Don’t take the one that it’s made by the machine. It tastes so bad and it’s not good.

the traditional way has to do with boiling the coffee slowly to the briquette! That’s the difference.

It has to take time (more than 6-7 minutes) and if they are really good they will not boil it with fire (blowtorch), but they will put the briquette to hot sand.

The slow boiling process will bring out the flavor.
Enjoy.

Hi @locoego ,

Thank you sharing your suggestion. I love elliniko cafe in hovoli as well. Do you have any photos? Adding photos to your posts make them more appealing!

By the way, I’ve noticed that your post has a Greek language label. Please note that I’ve removed it. To learn more about this kind of labels I recommend to take a look at the article How do I find posts in my preferred language?.

Hello and thank you for the notice.

I’ll upload a nice photo.

Take care and keep on.
