Tigernut Milk Beverage

Nothing is as delicious, fulfilling and refreshing as a home-made beverage most especially Tigernut Beverage.

In Nigeria, Tigernut is found in abundance in the northern part of the country where it is grown and cultivated. So its readily available, that’s why we could transform it to something so refreshing.

Tigernut milk is extracted from the nuts of Tigernut. It is processed using the blender or food processor after it has been soaked overnight to soften it, it is then ground until it is smooth. The amount of water added determines how concentrated you want it, i prefer mine very creamy so i use less water.

After water is added to the paste, use a clean cheese cloth to extract the milk, and your milk is ready. I love adding Date while processing as a sweetener(i have a sweet tooth?), you can use any sweetener of your choice or be taken just like that.

Researchers said that it has a whole lot of nutrients and contains as much calcium as Cow’s milk which is a more preferred dairy for Vegans (please you can check that up)

With Tigernut, nothing is a waste. The paste can also be used in making pancakes, to make it more fluffy and sweet, i add mashed ripped plantain and egg. The taste is unimaginable, you should try it out.

Thanks for sharing. @Chyna @ I believe that a taste of some nuts will definitely keep you taking more and more

This is my wife favorite and regular snacking fruit to keep her late in the night while awaiting for my arrival from work and other business meetings because I do regularly come back home late in the night.

I like it too because of some kind of juicy taste.

@Chyna It looks like a versatile fruit, all parts can be consumed. But I have never found this type in my area

Hello…it is also consumed in Spain. There it is called horchata. There is nothing else quite like it. I wonder what it would be like with a touch of angostura bitters in it?
