Thumbnails for 360s are unrecognizable

Hi - there’s still a consistent problem in the “google.com/travel/hotels/…” photos page for hotels - every single 360 image is represented by a thumbnail which is a zoomed in square “swatch”, making the scene completely unrecognizable. Here is an example:

https://www.google.com/travel/hotels/Toronto/entity/ChgI37a6qfi7zYWdARoLL2cvMXRkZ3cwZ2QQAQ/photos

If you use the dropdown to change from “All Formats” to “360 Views”, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails that look like puzzle pieces - no client or web surfer is going to click random thumbnails hoping to find what they are looking for.

I posted the same problem August 12, 2020 and received one response saying they’d look into it but never heard back. Now, for whatever reason, all my previous posts are inaccessible ??

Hoping for some resolution this time around. Cheers, Scott

Hi @Bitbyter

From November 20, 2020, the support for the Street View Trusted Photographers is no longer active in Local Guides Connect.

You can visit the new Street View trusted Help Center, where Street View Moderators can support you with your issues.

You should have access to the new site. If not, please let us know.

Cheers
Morten

Hi @Bitbyter ,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

The thumbnails are automatically chosen from the system while uploading the 360 photos and there is no possibility to change it manually. If you delete the photo and upload it again, it may be that the thumbnail changes but the Street View team can’t assure this as it’s an automatic procedure.

P.S.: I will move your post to our How-tos section, where Local Guides ask questions and express their doubts. I also suggest that you take @MortenCopenhagen 's advice and check if you can access the new site for support, where you can address your queries. With the above said, I am also accepting my comment as a solution, so if someone else has a similar doubt, the information can be found easier.

Thanks Morten, I was unaware since it’s quite rare for me to login here.

Thanks for the response Bobiisha, but this should not be marked as a solution. I’m quite aware that the thumbnail is randomly generated however they are so “zoomed in” I’m getting things like blank walls with one wall sconce as a representation of the entire room. My link will clearly demonstrate the problem. As suggested I will go to new site and take it up there. Thx, Scott
