Scrolling through my Facebook archive, I have discovered the image below and keened on the idea to share the image I will forever be proud with, I have discovered a fairly murdered topic on this forum from 2017 which you can find here.
My fascination by dragonflies dates back in the early '00s when I was a bored student (fairly called, nerd by many). As symbolism fan, I have read and seen a lot of albums and analysis of paintings and ancient artifacts with dragonfly images. Starting from ancient Egypt and the Americas, going through the old Japan mythology and Welsh folklore. The coolest images, I have paid attention are the jewelry where this image is fairly common and architecture, art nouveau in particular. Feel free to check Van Kempen’s dragonfly jewelries or some Gaudi’s developments. From creatures of Spring, new life, Summer and creation to Devil’s servants, dragonflies are still amazing.
Have you seen them up close or captured their grace? Please, do show off too!

The urbanized areas don’t have any indeed. Are there dragonflies by the sea in your country?

@FlameFox it s hard to find dragonflies even at the sea, but I met it for 2 year ago at the restaurant, far from sea around 3-5 km. It was alone there on the wall …no friends…but at the sea I can see only seagull there.

So happy to see that you have still got them in Thailand too, @duenbenz . Although it hurts to hear that it was alone and no other dragonflies were there. It’s never cool knowing that such lovely (and anti-mosquito) creatures are slowly disappearing. My hopes are that there’s an Atlantis kingdom somewhere at Amazonian jungle. There are plenty of dragonflies in Balchik - this is a resort in Bulgaria with a magnificent botanical garden where dragonflies have a massive colony. Considering the above one was at my uncles garden and it’s a mile away, it’s like the heaven for them, I guess

I just know that it can anti mosquito??..how amazing it is. @FlameFox
I m glad to hear that they still have heaven place even that place so far away from my place but it seems to be good news that they can be living there without threads. I can’t remember when they were going decreasingly but now even in the park or where we thought this is perfect eco system, we can’t find them flying surrounded us. Next time when you meet them, please pass my Missing to them.

What I meant is that dragonflies actually eat mosquitoes. It’s their natural food. More dragonflies, less mosquitoes - which is what I would prefer, honestly. Although it sounds gross
These creatures are typical for areas with humid air which I guess is the case if there are less buildings and concrete. There are many location around the Black Sea coast which is why we cannot suffer from lack of dragonflies. ^.^ Have you got such areas in Thailand as well, @duenbenz

We have many places with less building and concrete @FlameFox @@@@@but i still can’t find dragonflies there…Poor me… I guess they want more than perfect environment as I have to counterclockwise the clock back to my young age with less crowded people and less of cars.

Ah, yeees, @duenbenz , the decreased urbanization is their magnet too. We can organize an expedition to areas with less people … and cars for sure, where these little fellas will show for sure. They don’t like large noisy resorts. Just like some people.

Didn’t think I could find someone with same or similar kind of crazy here. Your sense of humor is really nice indeed.
I also still, can’t believe that someone actually did that seagull … that big!

Wonderfully captured and presented @FlameFox . I’d love to try butterfly photography in the future, it will be challenging for me as butterfly is a rare winged-creature in the city where I live.
Friendly greetings from Bengkulu - Indonesia.
