I never loved to use my mobile camera and was always reluctant to use it. I don’t know why? But, since last few years I have been actively using my camera and that too because of Local Guides.
Few years back when I started using Google Maps, sometimes after reaching the location, I used to get a shock that I have been to a wrong place or the place is closed permanently or moved. But, it was not updated so there was some inconvenience to people going to that place.
Out of curiosity, I started editing those places, sometimes moving the marker to the exact location, sometimes clicking the pictures of a new business which just started operations in a place, which was owned by someone else few months back.
Slowly it became a passion just to update the location so that there is less inconvenience to people travelling to that place.
Once, I wanted to go to some finance office in some other part of the city, I searched for it on maps and drove towards it. On reaching, I found out that information provided is totally accurate but the Map Marker is not showing the correct location. I just opened the app and updated the location. In some ways, directly or indirectly, it is going to help someone in need.
I want that being a #LocalGuide, it is my duty to keep all the local businesses up to date with whatever information I can put through any medium. It is such a great platform, millions of people use it everyday, the information needs to be updated.

Though the following picture is not related to this post, but wanted to share it. As, I was always reluctant to click pictures, But, last year in November a car stopped next to me at a traffic light near my office, I was not able to stop my self to click the picture. I immediately took out my phone and clicked the picture of the car. Later in the evening, one of my friend informed me that he’s blessed with a baby girl and he was going in the morning to the hospital to pick her wife and daughter. I don’t know, how the dots connected but I asked him abruptly, were you going on a white car with balloons? and his answer was YES.
I was so happy and relieved after listening to him. He decorated his house, his car with the balloons to welcome the #GirlChild. It was something new. Generally, people celebrate the birth of boys in our country and that thing is changing now. People are now giving equal opportunities to the girls as well.
