As a Google local guide, many times we make edits. Most of the time it would be because you had trouble finding a place or the location is marked in correctly. For me one such location was an LPG godown, which was located on a hill top with a narrow and steep road. The correct place was not added on Google maps and the marked location was way off, at least 6 km away from the actual location. I really like to add new useful places to maps and make or update location changes.
I was really happy to know when I was contacted by someone to thank me for making the addition and edit.
Similarly, when people you know, contact you and tell you that your review or answer helped it really gives a great feel, that your little effort has helped.
As local guides, we might have 100’s of such incidents, that would have put a smile on your face, when you reached a dead end, fixed the location and helped another.
