Surprise, surprise! I was searching for and looking up the Connect profile of a Local Guide and saw that the Local Guide had been “silenced” and the reason given silenced automatically by Discourse AI doesn’t really explain things, does it?
Have you seen any messages like this before?

Due to heavy recent spikes in spam attacks the safeguards against spammers has been raised.
The Google Moderators can reset this I believe.

@AdamGT . I think @MortenCopenhagen and @doni_hariadi answers explain it. There is lot of spam on maps nowadays. I think very soon it is going to be massively spammed and attacked by people with vested interests. Safeguarding it is going to be very vital
@AdamGT Wow, that’s the first time I’ve seen this happen, but as others have said, I believe that with the amount of spam and inappropriate profiles we’re seeing, these blocks are happening much more easily.
@AdamGT sir, you aren’t just an ordinary Local Guide or Connect Moderator. You are at the T100 level—where points, star photos, and leaderboards place your profile in a unique context. Given this, if the moderation system exercises a bit of extra caution, it can be viewed not merely as a restriction, but as a privilege of sorts.

Isn’t one of the rules not to post selfies?

Connect and Maps are two separate platforms. This discussion is about Connect. Two different systems to fight spam.

Thanks for flagging this. I have double-checked, and your Connect account issue should be resolved now. You should no longer see the “Silenced” status on it.
I am still looking into what caused it.
Adam made it look like is was his profile. This was just to protect the identity.
