Bibir pond is called heart of Barishal. The pond has become centered around Barisal City, has become around the different market complexes, different structures and offices.
In ancient times, this pond was excavated due to lack of water. The connection with the river was connected with this pond, Due to being connected to the river, tidal-tide worked in this pond, and there are rarely in Bangladesh, where tidal-tide is daily. Currently this connection is disconnected with the river hundred years ago.
The fountain and lighting of this sculpture are off all day, it is turned on after dusk. Lots of people gather here every afternoon and evening and it is beautiful to see the fountain at night through these wonderful lightning.
