This place, called Teteman in the Oti Region had no pictures on the internet. I visited and uploaded a few to google maps.

Well, I would like to say “well done” @DapsonIshmeal , however, I would like to ask you to remove your photos.
According to Add, remove, or share photos and videos “You can’t add photos or videos to addresses.”
You are welcome to add photos on the Listing in Google Maps, and to add the missing listing first, but not to use a workaround for adding photos in a location where there is not an add photos button, because this is a violation of the rules
@ErmesT i honestly don’t understand what you mean by I can’t add photos to addresses. The link you added has no much information. Kindly clarify what you mean
Google Maps has been designed to contribute in listing only, @DapsonIshmeal .
For this reason in the listing there is a “add a photo” button, like in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Teteman , while there is not that button in Teteman to add the photos. A village is a geographic element, so adding photo in there is not permitted.
Of course, as the button is missing you had to use a workaround to add you photo. However, the “add a photo” button is missing in there not because Google forgot to add it, but simply because, according to the rules, you should not add photos in there
@ErmesT Thanks for the information, however the place isn’t a village. It is a town. Searching for a place close to where i live and even other villages i know, i see photos of the places. Have you got anything to say about that also? Maybe I’m missing something.

In any case, town, city, village, it does’t make any difference regarding what I told you before about adding photos

When you add a photo on a listing that is related to an area, province, city, town, village, region, state, or even country or continent (e.g. Africa), some of the recent photos will be displayed directly on the already mentioned area, province, city, town, village, region, state, or even country or continent. This is one of the reasons why it is not necessary to use a workaround for adding photos to a geographical location, it is sufficient to add in the correct way the photos to the listings in the area
@ErmesT Thanks for the response. When you say, work around, I don’t understand what you mean. Why is there a way to add photos to the places you mentioned in your post when local guides are not supposed to add photos? It’s not like i had to beat the system to do so. I could see clearly a way to edit the place. The location itself is wrong. Where you have showing as Teteman is not the right place. I even edited that but hasn’t been approved yet. I took the pain to drive all the way from accra to get that done because it is a potential tourist site where people would want to see a picture of before wanting to visit. I’m making a video about my experience there. Maybe when it’s done, i will share so you see why it is important to have a photo of the place on google maps, likewise other sites

@ErmesT The listing on Wikipedia would have to even be altered. The place isn’t a village. It id a town. Some people just add information to places they’ve not even been there. A lot of information about places i have personally visited are false.
A lot of interesting points, @DapsonIshmeal . Promoting places of our country is extremely important, I definitely agree on the principle and, if you check my posts here in Connect, you will see that a lot of them are about the area where I live, and you will maybe discover several ways to share the places in the community and in Google Maps.
I agree with you that many times the “workaround” is made with good intentions, and that there is a glitch in the integration between Google Maps and Google Photos. The issue has been reported a lot of times, because for many is really a way to get points without adding any extra information on Google Maps. However it seems difficult to get fixed, but in any case the rules I shared with you have the priority, so doing this is a violation of the rules.
The screenshot that I am showing is coming directly from your link. If the position is wrong, how did you tried to fix it?
Local guides cannot fix that kind of issues directly, we need to report them.
If Wikipedia is wrong, you should suggest a correction in there, adding an official documentation. However this is not a mistake in Maps, but a mistake in the original source, and should be fixed in there
@ErmesT Thanks for the information. From my phone, i had the chance to edit the coordinates of the place. I added some places such as a church and a school to the map as well. I did add those images to the place not for the points of it, but to help people locate such places. It took me a lot of time to figure out that place again after a visit i made to there about 7 years ago. Looks like google maps will have to tweak some of it’s policies. If not, rural places which might not have businesses on site wouldn’t have any photos of them.
