Recently, someone tried to contact me via WA. He said he found me from Local Guides Connect, and probably searched for my WA number on my social media.

He offered payment if I would edit Google Maps at his request. Each edit would be paid $20 and for the first stage, I would be asked to edit 5 places

I think this is an unacceptable practice. A Local Guide will only contribute to places that have actually been visited, voluntarily, and not for any compensation, including payment in the form of money

So, if any of you get the same offer, please do not accept such an offer!

And for anyone who tries to contact Local Guides to offer that, stop your actions immediately!

It seems to me a fishing tactics of scammers so you can reveal your personal account details.
Delete the communication was made by this scammer.

Thanks for highlighting this out @BudionoS . Never accept these kind of offers no matter how enticing it is. Other than it’s violating Local Guides / Google Maps rules, 100% you will not be getting the payment. This is a scam.

@BudionoS Thank you for the information. Every day I hear from more friends who have received messages asking them to receive reviews on Google Maps or to review establishments with certain profiles.
It is very sad to see people trying to harm other people, since the channels are meant to help the community get around better.

Else you have spare time to play around
