Well as a Pandemic have taken the world by surprise and forced all of us to pay attention and change a few of our lives habits, I notice an special change on my reviews “must have”.
It’s a weird thing about being human and have to really have your own life, or someone’s close to you, affected so we can really think about simple things. As a few years ago the world has awake to the challenges and necessities of disabled people now seems that we are finally waking and seen the necessities of a different group of people, those who have difficulties to go out and do your groceries by your self.
A social isolation was required to battle this pandemic and now all of us are having the same problems that a lot of people faces everyday, for longer time than this quarantine. Sometimes is for a moment (when you are babysitting), for a brief time (a broken ankle), or is al most all the time (elderly people).
I’m not ashamed to confess that I needed this self isolation to see how difficult it is to go to a groceries store or to buy a simple bread. And I needed that to realize that my reviews wasn’t as helpful as I thought it was.
I have a few of “must have” depending on a place that I’m writing about, but “Does it do DELIVERY” hasn’t ever cross my mind while I was reviewing a drugstore or grocery store. I’m going to be honest and confess that for me 'Does it do deliveries" was most associated to food.
But now I have a different knowledge by my own experience, and I decided to do something good about it, and make my own reviews right.
No, this will not give points to improve my status as a Local Guide, but it will help someone how is in need of.
And this is what the Local Guides program means to me, means help people to know about the places around and to have a better experience when out. But from now on I’ll never forget how important also is the experience when you are INSIDE and can’t go out.
So, this life is not about points, it’s about helping and making better and easier everyone’s life in every part of this planet.
I’m here doing my social isolation and checking all my reviews to see how I can help my community a bit more.
Stay home. Stay safe. And keep helping.
