This is one way I use Google Maps

Any Cairo resident is used to the vast yet crazy structure of this city. It’s so (so!) large, very crowded, and incredibly connected. Whether you’re moving across Cairo in private or public transportation, you’ll pass by many different areas, places, and neighborhoods.

As an explorer and a local guide, I go to many places every week. Some of them might be quite distant and unfamiliar for me and that’s when Google Maps plays an important part in my journey.

One way I use Google Maps is when I am on public transportation heading to some place which I haven’t gone to much before. When the bus driver takes a different route than the one I’m familiar with, it can get a bit confusing for me to know where I need to get off. So I pick up my phone, connect to Google Maps, enter my destination and monitor how far I am. Just about 10 meters before I get there, I ask the driver to stop.

I also use Google Maps in different other situations but I guess I’ll be sharing these in a future post.

So how do you use Google Maps? Do you know any tips and tricks to better use the app? Make sure you leave them in a comment below!
