On one cold day in December 2017 I went shopping to the nearest hypermarket. After I finished shopping I got an unusual message on my phone, which ran: “What do you think of hypermarket “Lenta”?” I did not know who had sent that message, but I got inspired by this request straightaway. Yeah! I really got inspired. Actually, I had been waiting for something like that for long! I wrote a review and felt happy about it.
Soon I found out that I was now a Local Guide on Google Maps! This fact encouraged me yet more, therefore I went on. I started to share my impressions about places I visited: my favourite parks “Primorsky” and “Tavrichesky”, The museum of Faberge, the State Museum of History of Religion, different shopping malls, and other places. I enjoyed it a lot! Very often I made up my reviews on my mobile while I was on the bus on my way home.
Step by step, I could not help writing a review … Every time I visited some new place I wanted to write about it on Google Maps. I guess, I got sort of addicted to that! Unlike other addictions, this one has enriched my life!
Now I have been writing reviews on Google Maps for more than a year and I have reached Level 6. Why do I keep getting on with it? First, it inspires and energizes me, when I anticipate that my opinion and information may turn out to be useful and handy for somebody. Second, I become more close to people in the neighbourhood and around the world, and I appreciate it very much. I believe, it makes for the peace, friendship and love between people and countries.Third, being a Local Guide helps me to express myself and be myself!
As to the places, most of all I like to share my opinion and impressions about museums, exhibitions, theatres, cathedrals, historical buildings, monuments, statues, concert halls and concerts themselves. I mean, I am interested in objects and events associated with art, beauty and history. Moreover, I often look for information about the places I write about in my reviews to make them more objective. I have one more passion… If I find any drawbacks in the place, I tend to mention them. Apart from making criticisms, I might come up with an idea on how to improve the situation. I am a bit of a reformer!
I was absolutely happy to get an e-mail from Google with the proposal to take part in Connect Live 2019. Unfortunately, I found out about Local Guides Connect and meet-ups only after this e-mail. That’s why this is my first post on Local Guides Connect. Sadly, I did not find any information available about local meet-ups in my city! I am eager to continue being a Local Guide and now I would like to organise a meet-up myself!

Today I made a post on Connect, topic Local Stories, subtopic Introduce yourself. Google gave me a badge for that. However I cannot see it among other posts!!! I am worried, because to apply for Connect Live 2019 I need to give a link to this post!
