Why do I share places that I have visited in Google Maps? Because I often find myself do the same. As I plan my travel, I search upon things to do and places to visit anywhere in google; from article, instagram post or anything that inspire me which then afterward to check the places in Google map and it is very helpful to see the review there to help me imagine what does the place offer or how are other people’s experience there. I want to share what I experience in that particular place hoping the next person who travel to the same destination can take away information and overall it felt good as if I help other people to know how the real thing is on the field.
After I traveled, there are several things that I like to share.
- The airport and the transportation.
Transportation is one of the most important thing during travel. Somehow my photos about airport support this. I guess people would like to see what can they expect of airport to quickly orientate themselves around.
2. Food.
Who doesn’t enjoy having speciality food while they travel. For me, even so more important. As muslim I can’t eat pork and alcohol (or food cooked with alcohol) so I have to be cautious. Although usually I only eat halal food, during travel I eat anything as long as its not pork or contains alcohol. I think this is the most important bit that I can share. Plus the taste, of course.
- Mosque
I often find myself having to find a place to pray, luckily I can find quite easily thanks to Google Map. It is very important and beneficial for me to plan my itinerary. Everytime I found a place to pray, whether its a mosque or Islamic center, I reviewed it. Coming from Indonesia, I took this for granted. Therefore I always confirm if there is a place to pray (yay that mosque really existed) during my travel and when they open, as much as possible.
- Landmarks
There are places that you just need to be there because its somewhat represent the country or city that you visit. I like to share about it, not a lot because so many people has share about it. I like to find small things about that landmark that is unique, if I can to share.
- Little gems around where I live
Sometime when I go around my apartment or house, there are local businesses. I know in this information technology era, if you can find it online, that is better for your business so I share information about places around me as well
