Caption Thiba Palace Ratnagiri Maharashtra
About three years back my wife asked to visit the Kokan Coast and especially Ratnagiri to taste the fresh Alphanso as she is Very find of Mangos. We were in Ratnagiri in the first week of May for three days. This town is known for many heritage like Ratnagiri Durg etc. Thibaw Palace is one among them and it’s a major tourits attraction.
It was built by British as a Prison for Burma’s Royal King and Queen.
Burma’s Control were taken over by British in 1890 and King Thibaw and His wife were exiled. First they were kept in Madras and later they constructed this palace in 1910 for King and Queen. Its architecture is very attractive and still it adorns the royal fragrance. Many personal belongings of the Royals are on display.
For art and architecture lover it remain a major attraction. Famous Novelist Amitav Ghosh Novel " The Glass Palace" is the pretty story of this palace and Ratnagiri.

Hello @rizbab28 ,
Thank you for sharing your trip and this beautiful photo with us.
I love such old houses and palaces which are turned into museums, showing how a certain person or family lived there.
Is the entrance fee affordable? Is it possible to take photos inside the building?
