Thiba Palace

This picture if of Thiba palace located in Ratnagairi, the Burmese King theebaw/ Thibaw stayed here, a museum is made here open for general public displaying his pictures and story and some furniture and utensils etc, there are some more archaeological idols of Indian god and goddess kept. This photo was taken while I was exploring the palace.

What a historical place to visit. As far as I know this area is famous for the beautiful sunsets occurring there as well, am I right?

Nevertheless, the king was under house arrest at this place.

What a crooked strategy of the then rulers!

The Burmese (Myanmar) king under arrest at Ratnagiri and our popular national leader Lokamanya Tilak (born at Ratnagiri) was imprisoned at Mandalay in Myanmar!

@C_T you are right the king and his family was there due to political reasons.

The museum is now under Government and the entry fees is Rupee 1 for kids and Rupees 2 for adults

It is open from 10am to 6pm
