Hi @Mr_Prach ,

Thank you for sharing these great photos with us.

Is this a whole street of monuments? Are there people living in the houses or it’s for tourist attraction only? Is there some legends about this place? Please do share some more details with us, I would like to know a bit more about Durbar Square. Sharing more information about the images you upload will help others to understand why you are sharing and why they should read your posts.

@MoniV Thanks a lot for your respond.

Yes exactly all the houses, temples, statues seen on the photos are all historical ancient monuments of Patan Durbar Square, Lalitpur, Nepal. Nobody there stays in those mentioned monuments however, those all are opened publicly for visitors in the day. But in the nearby, the Durbar Square is surrounded by the Newa residential houses, hotels and restaurants currently.

This Durbar Square is one of the UNESCO registered world heritage sties of Nepal.

It is believed that this Newa Architectural historical yet ancient royal palace was built in the Mall era before 7th century governed by the King Siddhi Narasingh Malla. There are many temples and idols situated in surroundings one of that is “Krishna Mandir”. The Krishna Mandir is the temple of Gog Krishna which is located at west of the Palace. This temple is famous for 21 Gajur in a single temple. Usually, there are only three Gajur on top of a temple, where as on Krishna Mandir, it has 21 golden plated Gajur which is the main attraction of it.

“Gaa: Hiti” a continuous water flowing stone sculptured tap, which is located at the north of the palace is also another attraction of this Durbar Square. This is almost three storey down from the ground level water tap which flows from the head of a dragon shaped Crocodile.

a part from this, there are lots of Newa different architectural idols, temples, buildings, Chukas and many more which really amaze us. Due to these reasons, its one of the most tourists attraction destination within the Kathmandu valley. Thank you.

Thank you for your replay @Mr_Prach .
