My favourite thing to review is definitely food places! I have been a foodie since being a little kid. As time passed, I realized that I want to taste different kind of things, visit various types of restaurants and learn new things about culinary. I feel that gastronomy is a big part of every culture and tells a lot about local people, their character, history and the place itself. Therefore, I try to indulge in local cuisines when travelling. Moreover, food is one of the greatest pleasures in life. Undoubtedly, eating does provide our bodies with the necessary nutrients for sustaining life, but it also grands pure joy to our souls. My aim is to discover places that serve high quality food which is affordable to majority of population. I love it when I manage to find out “value for money” food places, which make my everyday life more enjoyable and will hopefully make other people’s too. After lots of trips and degustation I finally perceived the fact that I am actually very lucky to live in such a cosmopolitan city as Thessaloniki. It has been a crossroads of so many nations for hundreds of years, making it a melting pot of cultures and flavours. Thessalonian cuisine has a strong Mediterranean core but one can recognize gastronomical traces of nations such as Turkish, Balkan, Jewish, Armenian, Georgian, Russian and French. As times goes on, even more nationalities imprint their marks on Thessalonian cuisine, but without vitiating its authenticity and originality. Me? I’m just doing my bit to discover hidden gems for both locals & travellers.
Wow! Informative as well as delicious.
