There's Much More - Warsaw, Poland

Given comments from other people, I didn’t expect much of Warsaw before I arrived. How wrong I was. It is huge. Warsaw city centre, with a population of 1.8 million residents, dwarfs Birmingham’s 1.1 million.

So, with a narrow mind waiting to be enamoured with new and interesting things. What can I report?

:ballot_box_with_check: Architecture

There are other high-rise building that will wow, but nothing quite equals the Palace of Culture and Science.

:ballot_box_with_check: Food

There are 2 food markets you have to try, Hala Mirowska & Bio Bazar. The range of tomatoes. The plums depth of flavour. Special.

:ballot_box_with_check: Art

The most photo-realistic portrait paintings at The National Museum in Warsaw. Amazing modern art can be enjoyed at the Modern Art Museum located next to the vibrant Vistula Boulevards.

:ballot_box_with_check: Cafe

Costa Coffee, Cafe Nero, yep, they’re on every corner, but the range of independents and small chains is bewildering. Please visit

:ballot_box_with_check: Shopping

I like a good cream. Yope, a local cosmetics firm, offers some of the best.

:ballot_box_with_check: Highlight

Sadly, I had never seen a Red Squirrel. I can happily now say I have. There are loads of them and other beautiful flora and fauna at Ujazdowski Park.

Great Post, @davidrobertclarke !!!

Yes, I as well fall in love with Warzawa. I did first time visit this beautiful town in 1996. One of the most distroyed cities of the Second World War. I was a bit in shock, but within the last 30 years there did grow a flower , with international flair and famous + impactful historical museums.

I fully understand your fascination, while I was focused more on craft beer :beers: than Coffee :coffee: .

Beautiful post @davidrobertclarke . Warsaw looks like a beautiful place to visit. Enjoyed reading your post and liked all the pics. Thanks for sharing it with us. This is the best part of being a local guide and to be part of the local guides connect. All of us can’t go to all the places yet we can see the places through your eyes and narratives.

Thanks for your comments @TorM . It was great to see a city with so much craft. It is a haven for small independent businesses. The most Vegan friendly city I have visited on my travels too.
