Festival of colours"HOLI and RANGPANCHMI". Since ancient era, the festival is celebrated in Malwa region INDORE(INDIA).
Hello Everyone, I am KEERTI SHAH. I am local
guide of level 6 from India. We all know that India is a very vibrant and diverse country. What could be better than getting a chance to
taste them all without missing a single one of them? As a Google Local Guide my aim is to
introduce and explore the new places and their culture and festivals, diffrent community and ofcourse restraunant and cafes. But, for this we to categorize it and this will not only
help me to explore the culture but also help the local shop to achieve a mark with what they are best at doing and that is what I have been doing.I am proudly doing this from past one year. In review of any cafe , hotel i usually talk about its speciality, prices, dishes, parking availability and staff.
Indian culture and its cultural sites have been on travellers’ mind since time immemorial! Tourists from across the globe have been flocking to India to see and feel the mysterious cultural element in this holy land. Around 90% of foreign travellers visit India to explore the melting pot of its cultural diversity. This diversity exists in different forms such as history, archaeology, music, festivals, dance etc!
Festivals form the heart and soul of India. While
most of them have religious origin, there are many others which are celebrated irrespective of caste and creed.
So today Here I am to tell the world about the celebration of colours “HOLI AND RANGPANCHMI FESTIVAL”.
There always over a lakh people at Rajwada celebrating Rangpanchmi.
Apart from poha jalebi and eating late night at Sarafa, Holi and Rangpanchmi are two festivals that make Indore city stand out from every other city in the country.
For an Indori, what happens in the city on Rang Panchami is nothing new, but a non-Indori will be amazed to know that,Faag Yatra is organised on Rangpanchami from Bada Ganpati to Rajwada via Malharganj. People sing and dance, play with gulal and join the yatra.Rangpanchami, coloured water is sprinkled on main streets of old Indore. In old days, metallic pichkaries up to 20 feet long were used. Elephants and camels were used in Shahi Yatra of Rangpanchami. At present, water tankers with electrical pichkari are used to
sprinkle colours .
There is dholak, DJ and lots of music as well. Yes, this is Indore for you guys and I am proud to be a resident of this city. However, adding to this pride is what happened in my city after this year’s Rangpanchami celebration.
The best thing happened is that " Even Before We Could Get Rid of Holi Colour, the Streets of Indore Were Neat and Clean".
However, the way Holi is celebrated in Indore makes it one of the destinations worth traveling to. Indore is one of the biggest cities in Madhya
Pradesh and is one of the historically
important cities in the region too.I would love to take as many like-minded people to experience this wonderful place and its richness.
