The Year of Rat lanterns at Hsinchu City Hall, Taiwan

This year, 2020, is the “Year of Rats” in Chinese culture. The Hsinchu city government decorated a huge cat and three little rats lanterns in front of the city hall. It looked like the cat was looking for the rats, very interesting. Also, the contrast lighting of these lanterns with shade of the historical building in the background was very eye-catching!

According to Wikipeida: This old biliding was built in 1925-1927. In 1945, the Hsinchu city government was established to use this place as the official building. In 1998, this building was categorized as a cultural heritage by the law of Enforcement Rules of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act in Taiwan.
