The World after Death in Kyoto

In Heian period, the 9th century, Japanese was seriously believed in the presence of demons, monsters, and ghosts. People thought their terrible power caused illness and accidents. The man who was able to help people from their worries was "Onmyoji " in Kyoto. Abe Seimei is the famous Onmyoji, and this place is the Seimei Shrine that enshrines him.

It seems that Onmyoji defeated the demons with magic. They were working in the court as astronomer scholars and fortune tellers.
Sometimes Seimei summoned “Shikigami”, servants like small devil or fairy, from the World after Death. This is a statue of Shikigami.

Rikudochinko temple is also a mistery
spot.

The well here is connected to the World after Death and Ono Takamura used to meet " Enma Daiou", the Great King of Hell. He helped Emma the Great at hell trial. It’s amazing. The well is on the right side of the red pillar and behind the tree.

I showed magical spots in Kyoto.

Hello @TaizouOkazaki this is a beautiful story. People always tried to explain what they could not comprehend. It’s hard to imagine now with all the knowledge we’ve gathered over the decades and centuries. The great stories remain for us to enjoy.
