Picture: Our living room ready for the Meet-Up with card about Local Guides
There is no doubt. The best thing I have ever done as a Local Guide was organizing meet-ups!
I started in Rio de Janeiro, my home city. In April 2016. By that time I was working with some friends to create a house, sustained by its own community using gamification processes, that would host cool projects, from hacker clubs to arts performances and yoga class. So we decided to open the doors of our HUB4D (the name of the house) and host the first ever Local Guides Meet-Up in Rio de Janeiro.
It was a huge success. The house was a mix of experienced guides who saw the post in G+ and people who attended the house regularly wanting to learn more about the program. I connected my phone to our big TV using my Chromecast, and performed a quick explanation on how Local Guides works, it it was followed by hours and hours of people sharing knowledge and experiences in a great party! Many guys that I met that day are my friends until today!
After that the Rio de Janeiro’s community never stopped. Many other meet-ups were done, and I even organized the first Meet-Up of Uruguay latter that year during a travel! But I’ll save this story to another post!
