The Wild West Gold Camp Museum of Objects from the 1800s

The Wild West Gold Camp Museum is one of the many museums in Oatman, Arizona
It is a secluded place on the northern end of Oatman’s Main Street.

Oatman is a charming mining town with wooden sidewalks and facades straight out of the early twentieth century.

And the museum is located in a corner building allowing it to place exhibits on all sides that can be accessed independently.

The Wild West Gold Camp Museum specializes in preserving everyday objects from a century ago, and they have managed to exhibit them in the same condition and layout as one would use them back then. For example, this bed adn the mattress, the gramophone nearby.

Besides that, there are several racks studded with random things that have just piled up and make for a great exhibit.

I especially noted a large collection of leather boots, hats, and jackets.

And surprisingly they also sell these if anyone is interested in buying.

The outdoor exhibits on the north side consist of a few rusted objects lined up along the outer wall.

Further still are very old wheelbarrows, cartwheels, and coal-fired water heaters.

On the south side are foundry equipment and household items like books and dolls.

A section called Oatman History has exhibits like a broken rusted pan and a chess board.

Another glass case exhibits bottles, knobs, and ordinary stone collection.

Yet another outdoor exhibit on the east side has a temporary cover cloth and has mor random objects from the garage and a saloon.

If these were not from a century ago, anyone would mistake them for scrap.

The museum is not in the perfect condition as one would expect it to be since they have no entry fees, and also evident from the fact that they are selling off the artifacts, though Ifeel proud to have added this place to Google Maps

How to Reach

There are many day tours from Las Vegas to reach Oatman and the tour also covers the historic Seligman and Kingman towns.

Where to Stay

There are not many large places to stay since most tourists spend only a few hours here.

A notable hotel is the Oatman Hotel, Bar and Restaurant.

:wheelchair: Accessibility

The Wild West Gold Camp Musem is partially accessible since the approach road is in bad condition and can pose a challenge to walk for even those who are not differently abled.

So interessant sich die Vergangenheit darstellt @TusharSuradkar so schön ist es im Heute und Jetzt zu Leben. Leider muss die Welt zu einer friedlichen und besseren Welt zurück kehren.

Completely agree @Annaelisa

How much ever we love the past, one must not forget the Wild West was rough too.

These people lived a challenging life out there in the wild.
