The Wild Atlantic Way - Plastic

Baltimore, West Cork is very close to the beginning of the Wild Atlantic Way a 2,500km coastal route along Ireland’s south and west coast stretching from Kinsale in West Cork all the way to the top of our island on the Inishowen Peninsula on the Northern coastline of Ireland.

There is an abundance of wildlife in the northern Atlantic that crashes into Ireland’s coast. I was lucky enough on April 20th last to get a clear, windless day and witness dolphins by the hundred along with Basking sharks, Minke whales and so many sea birds.

There was some plastic that I could see in the ocean that day and surely it has to fall to every single individual to try reduce their use of single plastic items and teach the younger generations to do the same.

This is the Beacon at the entrance to the harbour at Baltimore.
