Thank you to all who joined our food and drink video challenge! Over 100 Local Guides shared mouthwatering videos from six continents, helping people everywhere decide where to dine out.
A panel of five judges, part of the Google Maps video team, reviewed the submissions against the video criteria. They were looking for good quality videos, up to 30 seconds long and shot in portrait mode, that followed the Maps content policies and were uploaded after the start of the challenge. Videos had to be helpful, inspiring others to visit the place, and engaging.
And the results are in: 73 Local Guides fulfilled the challenge! We have awarded first-time and third-time Connect challenge winner badges to everyone who qualified, and included those with two wins in our running list.
If you don’t have a new badge on your profile or you don’t see your name on the list, don’t worry — a new challenge is coming up soon.
Among the 73 videos, the juries picked their ten favorite ones. These videos stood out with their quality and value to others. Here they are:

Hi @InaS You are tired of making constant updates for technical explanations in this challenge from time to time. Thank you for everything. It is nice to see the videos that increase appetite. Congratulations to the winners. So from now on, it is necessary to upload more appetite-inducing videos.
Wow! This is amazing. Thank you dear @InaS and thank to the team for selecting as many videos as they could, including mine. It is my pleasure to be part of Local Guides who won three challenges on Connect.
I should also say a special thanks to @Rednewt74 and @TravellerG for their efforts to guide other users.
@LaloPadilla Thank you, I also love these challenges, and I am super happy to see each wonderful place that the countries have. Congratulations to all of you.
@InaS It was really cool to participate in the challenge and bring a little bit of my days here in Canada to anyone who is coming or thinking about visiting the country.
May you see more challenges like this!
Feeling honored to be featured in this! Special thanks to @InaS and the team behind the challenge. Can’t wait for more delicious adventures with the Connect community!
Out of curiosity, if you watch all 10 videos… what elements work best in terms of being engaging and useful for viewers? There’s obviously a trade off between the complicated vs simple videos. I wouldn’t want to do the video I did for all my uploads (and I don’t).
