Navi Mumbai was the brainchild of Adi Kanga, a civil engineer. With distinguished architect Charles Correa on board as the Chief Architect, ‘City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO)’ initiated the development of around 16,000 hectares of land to the north-east of Mumbai.
Panvel is the one of the important residential, commercial and educational node of Navi Mumbai. Panvel is the most populated city in the district of Raigad and is located on the Mumbai Bangalore Highway.
Panvel is the upcoming and one of the prime financial hub of the world. As it right now undergoing rampant changes like upcoming Panvel Mega City Project which create millions of job, upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is an under construction greenfield international airport being built at Panvel. It will be Mumbai’s second airport. Upon its completion, Mumbai will be the first city in India to have more than one airport.
Upon once fully completed it is expected to handle 60 million passengers every year by 2030 and could end up becoming one of the busiest airport in the world.
Panvel Municipal Corporation came into existence on 1 October 2016 and all planning and development is currently operated from this building. I have posted two photos of this historical building and it is viewed by more than 11,000 peoples in just 8+ months which is one of the achievement for me as novice google map explorer.
