I visited Bodh Gaya my work, I was immediately struck by the peaceful atmosphere that enveloped the town. I could see monks and nuns from different parts of the world walking around, dressed in their traditional attire, and chanting prayers.
My first stop was the Mahabodhi Temple complex, and as I entered through the gates. I could see the Bodhi tree, which stood at the heart of the complex.
it is important to note that electronic devices and luggage are not allowed inside. You can submit them at the designated counters outside the temple, which are safe and secure.
As I walked around the temple, I could see people from different countries offering prayers and performing rituals. The air was filled with the sound of chanting and the fragrance of incense.
Inside the temple, you can visit for free and offer prayers, meditate or simply admire the carvings and architecture. The temple is open from 5 am to 9 pm, and it is recommended to visit early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the crowds. Peak rush is during November to January month.
During my visit, I also explored the local cuisine and visited several restaurants in the town. Ramsewak Restaurant, Gautam Lassi Restaurant, Fujiya green restaurant and Tirupati Restaurant were some of my favorites. These restaurants serve authentic local food, including samosas, Dosa, thalis, and lassis.
Overall, my visit to Bodh Gaya was a delightful experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in exploring the spiritual and cultural heritage of India. The town’s peaceful atmosphere, rich history, and delicious food make it a must-visit destination for any traveler.
