I miss diving so much!
Whenever i get so tired from work, I usually go back to Lampung and dive with my group, Corona Diving Club (hmm… just realized that I have been ‘infected’ by Corona since 2012 when I joined the club )
But now, the pandemic has stopped us from traveling around for quite some times.
Of course at this point, many of us have implemented the ‘new normal’ but I am still spending most of my time at home, including working remotely.
Besides missing my mom and the big family in Lampung as well as my friends, I also miss diving.
It is one of my favorite sports. At least for now.
I got my certificate from CMAS since 2012.
Diving is considered as an extreme sport so you need to have the proper training before you can actually dive. There are so many important equipments and gear you need to know before you can safely dive.
For an A1 or open water certificate, I spent 3 days at the pool and in classes (there are theories you need to learn as well) and the test at open water or the ocean. But it worth all the efforts!
I have been trying to dive s much as I can in many different spots.
Well, It’s not always that easy as I don’t really have long days-off and holiday.
I mostly dive in Lampung, my hometown, and Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia ( I shared a little snap on Bunaken’s wonderful sky here: Clear Blue Sky at Bunaken, Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia).
Then up until now, I have been diving in Bali, Florida, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada in the Caribbean.
I would love to have diving tours in Indonesia and we certainly have famous diving sports here.
My list includes Raja Ampat; Wakatobi; Kakaban; Gorontalo; Ambon; Natuna; Aceh; and so many more.
Hopefully after the pandemic is over, I can start diving again.
As I just joined a Weekly Grooming Session - 11 Meet - Up with @ravindus as the speaker and he happens to be a diver as well, I know I should share more about my underwater experience in Google Maps and Local Guides Connect as well!
Frankly I have been reviewing and sharing my photos from my diving trips, but I haven’t been very successful in adding some diving spots in the middle of the ocean. Most of the place I reviewed are either the islands, the nearest beaches, or the diving operators. Maybe I should learn more about adding those diving spots from the Google moderators or others who have more experience on this.
So, back to the underwater beauty of Indonesia.
While waiting for the real diving to take place, I will share now some underwater beauty of Indonesia from my phone and my hard drives. I love taking pictures but I’m obviously an amateur in underwater photography LOL.
The first photo is the lion fish in Bunaken, North Sulawesi, while the second one below is also taken in Bunaken but on a different diving spot. You see all those beautiful colors here and that’s one of the reasons why I love diving so much
Swimming with the turtles is really something as well.
They are such majestic creatures.
This is the Bunaken Island
Of course, diving won’t be complete without saying hi to Nemo or the clown fish.
This one is taken in Lampung, my home town (Read: Sari Ringgung Beach and Snorkeling/Diving spot, Lampung, Indonesia )
And a little underwater selfie won’t hurt, right
And here’s the video of one of my diving trip in Lampung
Thank you for reading this post and sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Hope everyone is safe, happy, and healthy.
Wherever you are!
