The true reason I love the Google's Local Guide Program

I have visited several places in India and in Europe. In most of the cases Google maps was like a partner to me. Without google map I can not imagine how it would be. Visiting adventure places definitely not the best point for me to become a local guide. Its all about reviewing some places and providing a proper feedback based on my experience. The feedback given by local guides will help the end customer as well as the service/product providers. As local guide program is purely free, The reviews given by us on map is completely based on personal experience and are not biased. I would like to explain this with an example, Suppose you’re going somewhere which is a new place for you or may be you’re looking for a restaurant near highway. In such cases any shops or restaurant knows you will hardly visit here again they can charge any amount of money from you. May be the place do not seems to be a restaurant, some other bad business is running there. You may get trapped there. If there is no concept of reviewing any place on map, how a person will come to know about such place? A sequence of people will get cheated at the same place. It would be a open loop system. The google’s local guide program will make this as closed loop feedback system. Anyone will dare to cheat any people. They know the world will know what they have been doing. From next time, people will read the reviews before going to that business. Its not only to avoid cheats and fraud, any businesses can improve their services as well. A person started small new business who may not have sufficient money to advertise, has a wonderful and free platform to represent his business on map. And we as local guide will give an honest review to that business The point is when Google can provide these services for free, why can’t we?
