The Tireless Quest: To Reveal the Shining Gems on Google Maps

“Quiet, nondescript, underrated. Who knew that this place had the best cocktails in town?”

Finding the best places around shouldn’t be a crap-shoot. Sometimes the best place to find a drink is the airport bar and sometimes it’s that hole in the wall that you walk past every time you go to work. Not everyone is brave enough to try that grungy Mexican place behind the strip club. But you are.

Being a Google Guide lets you try the best places around and share your experiences with others. Whether they are the best places on earth or the diviest of dives; sharing what you like and don’t like help thousands of others do the same. It’s not about being the judge and jury; it is about finding that place that makes you wanna ask all your friends, “Have you tried that new Ramen Place?”

My passion is exploring the places that have that special touch you don’t see often. That rock themed burger restaurant that is serving a burger, fries, and beer for $10! The place that lets you meet and interact with actual lions and lion cubs! Did you know the cocktails in the Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Zambia have heavy pours and great views? Did you know that if you tip the waiter they will give you the WiFi password for the lounge upstairs?

Having amazing experiences is great but getting to share what was incredible about that place with others is a bonus. Connecting and interacting with other people outside of your social network is like having your own Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives but you are the host and dressing up in a Hawaiian shirt and getting flame tattoos are optional.
