Wow great photos of some nice pottery there @MH-Abedini . Some very colorful, some very arty, some very elegant and ornate. Is there a big market for this kind of pottery in Iran? I noticed the price of one of the items is 220000 is that 220000 rials?
Hello @MH-Abedini ,
Thank you for sharing these amazing photos with us, everything looks so beautiful! Did you buy something?
In general, is there a dominant color in the Iranian ceramic? Is pottery famous all over the country, or it’s an artcraft which belongs mainly to a certain region?
You can always have a look at Please Read: Posting on “Photography” Board article, it might be helpful for your next post.
Hello @AdamGT
Thank you for your questions.
The answer to your first question is “Yes”.
There is a big market in Iran, called “LalehJin” district that is made of 100-200 workshops in Hamedan historical Province.
The handicrafts experts say that Lalehjin is the largest pottery and ceramic production center in the Middle East, but the photos you saw in this post are from a shop in Qom.
And finally the price is labeled in Iranian currency(Rial) and 220000 Rials is equal to 1.5$.
To be frank I should say these beautiful crafts have appropriate price and the customers will be happy of it.
Hello @BorrisS
Thank you.
About Dominant color of Iran pottery and ceramic, I asked this question from the owner of that shop I have taken these photos(Mr Shafie) and he answered me that the colors used in Iranian pottery handicrafts include all colors, but the most colors used by pottery producers are changing by costumers orders and tastes.
About your second question I can say that almost all Iranians likes their country pottery products and in many houses in Iran, you can find different kinds of Iran pottery and ceramic products, but producers workshops are scattered all over the country, from Shahroud to Isfahan, Shiraz and Hamedan provinces.
But as I told before in previous reply to dear @AdamGT , One of most known pottery production site in Iran is Lalehjin district.
Don’t be afraid!
After Coronavirus, get a direct plane ticket to Iran and see these handicrafts up close.
