Since 1930 the peasants from a town called “Atotonilco” in the boroungh of Tepalcingo in the state of Morelos, Mexico, envisioned the possibility of taking advantage of the thermal baths with medical and recreative purposes. Their project could become real as a cooperative society since 1952, Atotonilco’s ethymology derives from Nahuatl: term “atl” means “water” “Totonqui” means “hot” and “co” means “in - inside” and all of them put toguether mean “A place where water boils”.
